Our Heritage

Picture of Bacon Indian College Baseball TeamMy great great grandfather was James W. Vail. He was born in Jackson County, Alabama in 1837. He was the son of D. W. Vail, a leading professor of literature and languages, who spent his life teaching. James Vail married Francis Folsom in 1871. Francis was a Choctaw translator. They had six children.

Their son, Charles E. Vail, is the Original Enrollee and my great grandfather. He is pictured on the Bacon Indian College Baseball team (right). Charles Vail married Flora Guest, also Choctaw. Flora attended the Indian University and was part of the music department. She is pictured at the bottom right of the class of 1906 (below). My grandmother Nell and my mother Coleen are very proud of our Choctaw Heritage and ensure that we continue honoring our culture.

Thank you for visiting our company. Below are several photographs of our team which I hope you enjoy.
